From the many hundreds of small forges and foundry's across Georgian Britain emerged hand made brassware and ironmongery that adorned the great houses of Britain. These items were considered items of beauty as well being functional features that were manufactured with great skill.

The project to rebuild the Shawfield Mansion required us to search for foundry's where individual craftsmanship had not been replaced by mechanization and where classic styles were still under production.
